Description
Low Profile Panels
Low profile panels are easy to install.
Firstly, the routed overlay panels are manufactured from high density XPS 300kPa. This makes them thermally insulating, lightweight, waterproof and faced
with a reinforced cement coating. The panels provide a quick and easy solution for the placement of pipework for underfloor heating applications.
The lightweight, reinforced cement facing, provides a robust surface that is ideal for direct bonding of tiles.
The panels are suitable for engineered wood, carpet, vinyl etc can also be used, subject to additional preparation.
The panels are ideal for fitting onto solid floors i.e. concrete, screed, asphalt floors. They are also great to use with suspended timber floors that have been boarded
with suitable floor boarding such as tongue & groove planking/chipboard planking etc.
The panels are easy to cut and install, and should be laid with the panel joints staggered in a brick bond style. The routed channels are compatible with most flexible low-pressure underfloor
heating pipes.
Surface preparation for application of:
The panels are available for use with , 12mm, and 16mm pipes with centers at 150mm. At the end of each panel is a series of pre formed return loops and 3 x routed channels. This allows flexibility and versatility for multiple heated zones to be fitted.
Fixing onto solid floors prior to applying tiles/ engineered wood:
Low profile panel fixing with adhesive.
Prime the floor with a suitable primer. Apply a solid bed of cement-based, flexible tile adhesive using an 8 – 12mm notched tiling trowel.
Apply suitable pressure to ensure good compaction of the panel into the adhesive.
Fixing onto timber floors prior to applying tiles / engineered wood:
Low profile panel fixing with Screws and Washers.
Fix using 35mm diameter washers with a suitable screw, set at maximum 300mm centers.
If the floor is uneven, we recommend fixing the overlay panels with a solid bed of cement-based, flexible tile adhesive. In addition fix with
35mm diameter washers and suitable screws using approximately 8 fixings per panel once the adhesive has set.
